Tabi-Tabitha, the Cat on the Yoga Mat

Hello There, VivBounty here with a quick post to share adorable Tabi-Tabitha, the cheeky cat doing yoga this morning.

I put the mat down, but before I lay down to begin my yoga practice, Tabi-Tabitha, cheeky cat, hogs the mat 🙂

Each morning and evening when I put the yoga mat out, Tabi-Tabitha, my cheeky 1-year-old cat comes to join me for a few minutes. This morning, she decided that she was not going to give me any space to begin my yoga practice before getting a good belly rub!

So I tell Tabi-Tabitha the cheeky cat to roll over so I can lay on the yoga mat and she simply turns away to ignore me. 😀

Usually she moves over and let’s me get into position, but this morning as it was quite cool, she really needed her cuddles.

Then some days Tabi-Tabitha actually lets me practice. 😀

What fun it is having a little cat to join me in my yoga practice each day!

Happy 10th Birthday To Our Greyhound, Ackers

Hello there, VivBounty here to share with you the celebration of greyhound, Ackers happy 10th birthday.

We adopted Ackers from MGAP 2 years ago just the week of his 8th birthday. He has been a joy to us each and every day since then. We are so very blessed to have him. Here he is enjoying a special treat on his 10th birthday. There are few things he loves more than a yummy cheeseburger!

He looks so forward to his daily walk. We usually take the same route, but sometimes we vary it a little bit, but there is no missing the crossing of the river on the footbridge. He loves to stand there and feel the breeze as he looks at the river below.

Ackers, the greyhound used to be quite nervous in the car, but we have learned that if he we put the back seats up to give him a more contained, safer space, he rides quite comfortably and is quite happy to come for a drive.

And, truly, corny as it sounds, he is man’s best friend; or more to the point, his daddy’s best friend, affectionately referred to as “Little boy”. All day long I hear, “Hello little boy” or “Shall we go for a walk around the garden, little boy” and so many more greetings, which my day would be so empty without.

Happy 10th Birthday, precious Ackers. Thank you for coming to us to help keep your daddy’s sugar under control and giving him “sensible conversation in the morning”.

Until next time,

Hug Your Pet!

In memory of our beautiful, regal greyhound, Leihla

Hello There, VivBounty here with a broken heart to share the sad news of the departure of our beautiful, brave, regal, greyhound, Leihla to her rightful place on the rainbow bridge where she will join our tribe in heaven.

Leihla, beautiful, regal, loving, happy 10-year-old greyhound

Leihla was a re-homed greyhound who came to us on January 28th, 2012. She taught us so much about greyhounds, and unconditional love. She lovingly accepted a "brother", greyhound, Ackers into her life and even in her last months, tolerated a new kitten, Tabi-Tabitha. She made many friends in our little village and loved children.

The first time I saw Leihla run free

The neighbourhood "posse", ranging in age from 5 to 11, boys and girls alike, would join us for our walks down the Trans Canada Trail and across the beautiful Gaspereau River. She would stand for ages just enjoying the fresh air. The first time I ever saw her run free and strong was at our groomer and friend, Angela of Posh Pet Grooming Studio and to say it was impressive and awesome, would surely be an understatement.

Thank you Angela for the priceless memories in the many photos you took of our beautiful, majestic greyhound, Leihla. I am sure Zuri was waiting to welcome her to the rainbow bridge along with Pedro and Scampy when she arrived. I know for sure my dad was.

Leihla-farewell

Annette came to bless Leihla with tears of farewell for all of her people friends.

Among Leihla's many friends, was sweet Annette who got to see her in her final days. It was such a blessing to get these photos. This moment was sacred and represented all Leihla's people friends who loved her and could not be there to say "goodbye" before she left for the rainbow bridge. Thank you so much Annette.

Daddy feels both their suffering and sadness

This beautiful tribute was borrowed from my cousin, Robert whose family lost their loving furry child, Sydney. See their post here on Facebook

The Last Battle

If it should be that I grow frail and weak,
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then will you do what must done,
For this, the last battle, can't be won.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship must stand the test,
we have had so many happy years,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where my needs they'll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end and hold me firm and speak to me,
until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree,
it is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail it's last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don't grieve that it must be you,
who has to decide this thing to do;
we've been so close, we two, these years,
Don't let your heart hold any tears.

With heavy hearts we say goodbye to our sweet greyhound, Leihla.
We will forever love you and look forward to meeting again someday on the Rainbow Bridge.

Until next time, cherish your pets. They just don’t live long enough.
